Enström's history began in 1856 with an injured leg. Farmer Fredrik Johansson was involved in an accident, and found it difficult to carry on with his work on the farm. Instead, he began making furniture at home in the kitchen. After one winter's work, he took his furniture to the market and sold everything he had with him, but was then robbed by highwaymen and returned home with no furniture or money.
		But this didn't stop farmer Johansson, and this is why Enströms is today Tibro's oldest furniture company. Of course, a lot has happened since Fredrik first set off to market. Times have changed. Trends and fashions have superseded each other. However, the core of our operation has remained intact. We are still a family company. We still have the same close and loyal relationship with craftsmanship. We still have the same strong feelings about quality Swedish furniture. Thankfully though, we no longer have to deal with highwaymen.
